We will be at two events in Nuneaton this month to support young people in their mission to work towards careers in the arts.
“One of our missions is to give young people opportunities to lead in the arts and take the first step to discovering their pathways into these roles.”
Shout Out for the Arts
What is National Careers Week?
From 4th to 9th March 2024 a nationwide celebration of career opportunities takes place across the UK.
As part of this, our Shout Out for the Arts Coordinator, Kim, will be at two very special events to talk to young people about working in the arts.
Supporting your future arts careers
Here at Shout Out for the Arts, one of our missions is to give young people opportunities to lead in the arts and take the first step to discovering their pathways into these roles.
In previous years, for example, we ran trustee workshops, produced careers fairs and much more.

2024 celebration
As part of National Careers Week 2024, Shout Out for the Arts’ Kim will be at the following events:
- Talk, Human Books (Careers) Event, Nuneaton Library, Friday 8th March 2024
- Workshop, Next Steps Event, King Edward VI College, Nuneaton, Tuesday 12th March
Nuneaton Library
This exciting, private event at Nuneaton Library is hosted by Warwickshire Libraries. It will introduce young people to professionals working in the arts and culture sector.
Year 7 pupils from a local school in Nuneaton will be joining storytellers, apprentices, charity directors and others to learn about the career paths and adventures of people who work in the arts.
The speakers, including Shout Out for the Arts Coordinator Kim, will aim to inspire and inform young people. The event will encourage them to overcome barriers, prejudice, and negative assumptions about careers in the arts and cultural worlds.
Kim will discuss her job, what she does, how she got into the arts industry plus what a typical day at work might look like.
This is closed event for pupils invited via their school.
King Edward VI College, Nuneaton
The private event at King Edward VI College is for students at the school and invited guests only.
Students will have the opportunity to take part in hands-on workshops with professionals – there will be a selection of sessions to choose from based on which subjects the young people are interested in.

What to expect
“I am Kim and I am the Shout Out for the Arts Coordinator. My role is about working together with other organisations to listen to young people and support them so they can ‘shout’ about, and shape, the arts and culture available to them. We want to listen to, and help amplify, their voices. At these events, I will talk with the young people about what I do as a coordinator, what my journey was into this job, and what skills I have gained along the way. I will share details of the work Shout Out for the Arts is doing with Imagineer on the Creative Explorers project in Nuneaton and Bedworth and how the young people might get involved and gain similar skills. There will be a space to ask me any questions and explore the answers together. I can’t wait to see you all there!”
