What is ‘Shout Out for the Arts’?

We are Shout Out for the Arts – the first youth-led LCEP in the country.

Who are we?

We are young people and organisations in Warwickshire who work together to create opportunities for young people to shape the arts and cultural offers available to them.

We also work across sectors to bring about positive change in our communities. We are one of the many Local Cultural Education Partnerships (LCEPs) across England.

Ours is the first LCEP in the country to be youth-led.

What is an LCEP?

LCEPs support children and young people to fulfil their creative potential and access high-quality cultural experiences where they live, where they go to school, and where they spend their free time.

Partners come together from across sectors, responding to local needs and interests, to drive a more joined-up cultural education offer and share resources.

LCEPs improve the visibility of cultural education in their local area.

Young people

Young people are at the heart of what we do – this includes individuals aged 25 and under who live in Warwickshire.

In 2022/2023:

  • 202 young people were involved in our programme
  • 470+ were impacted by the project’s activities
Text: young people should be able to shout about what they want in the arts

We think young people should be able to shout about what they want in the arts.

The organisations

We have an Adult Steering Group that meets regularly to strategically support the vision of the young people.

Future aims

We are starting to put together a plan for what we will focus on in the next 2 years.

This will include:

Text: hyper-local, training, youth-led

1. Creating hyper-local youth boards in NuneatonBedworthRugby (2024/2025) and North Warwickshire (2025).

2. Delivering Young Arts Ambassador training in NuneatonBedworth, Rugby (2024/2025) and North Warwickshire (2025).

3. Supporting youth-led creative projects in Nuneaton and Bedworth (as part of Creative Explorers in 2024/2025) and Rugby (2024/2025).

What is ‘Creative Explorers’?

Many important art projects will take place across Nuneaton & Bedworth in 2024 as part of a local initiative called Creative Explorers, lead by Nuneaton & Bedworth Borough Council (NBBC) and other partners.

More information will be shared soon about how Shout Out for the Arts is to be involved.
